This is the place to talk about the wonderful books we read.  If you'd like me to list one of your choices, e-mail me at pk@patriciakay.com and tell me about it:

I just finished reading RISE AND SHINE by Anna Quindlen.  I have to say that this book is one of the best I've read this past year.  The story of two sisters -- Bridget and Meghan Fitzmaurice -- it has everything: romance, drama, suspense, humor -- and it takes place against the backdrop of Manhattan.  Meghan Fitzmaurice is a famous television personality.  She anchors a morning show called Rise and Shine.  Bridget is her younger, social-worker sister.  Their relationship and what happens to it when Meghan does something that jeopardizes both her career and her personal life is the heart of the story, but I think there's something for everyone here.  I highly recommend it.  *****

Another great read -- I finished this book in a day, mostly while waiting at the hospital for the cardiologist who would conduct my stress test -- is Judith Guest's THE TARNISHED EYE.  This is based on a true life story and had me glued to the book from the first page.  When the Norbois family -- mother, father, four children -- are brutally murdered at the vacation home in Blessed, Michigan, the entire town is shaken.  In Guest's talented hands, the story is so compelling, I was practically biting my nails wondering what was going to happen next.  High recommended.  *****

What a great idea to have some of your favorite fans share their great reading experiences!  The question is - do we have to limit it to one?  [Shelby, the answer to that is no.  Send me as many recommendations as you'd like!]

If I had to choose only one (oh, so hard) I would have to say THE BRONZE HORSEMAN by Paulina Simon.  This is the only book I've ever read in my life (I read over 200 a year) that has ever made me dream about the characters at night.  Tatiana and Alexander's story will strike a chord with every romance reader who wants to be so overwhelmed by the love between the two characters that they have to pull out the tissues several times during the read.  While this book is long in length, I found myself wishing it would never end.  The good news is that a sequel TATIANA AND ALEXANDER was published (just as good a read) and the final book in this WWII saga has just been released.  Needless to say I have THE SUMMER GARDEN in my hands already and plan to be enjoying it over the holidays.  Take my advice and give this book a try.

Pat says, "I can hardly wait!  Thanks, Shelby!"
